Fun stuff

In our Sunday evening dorm meetings, we always try to reinforce a biblical concept in a fun way along with discussing the regular business of dorm life. Here we gave each person a ziploc bag containing a different number and variety of items, from q-tips to paper clips to pennies to rubber bands. Using tape and glue, each had to make something of what they had been supplied, using as many items in their bags as possible (see Luke 19:11-27 for the application). We had some pretty wild contraptions - Santi's rubber band shooter popped Uncle Tim in the head! Sarah's picture frame kept falling over and Marigan's llama, made from straws, looked pretty sickly :)



Each senior is given an eighth grader to 'buddy' with throughout the year. Naomi chose Annie as her buddy and together, they decided to create homemade Valentine's Day cards to give to friends. We love the concept of an older student mentoring a younger one and have seen firsthand how powerful these relationships can be.
