This is the nickname that has been given to the conference we are at. It's actually the TCK-PFO but when shortened, it sounds like 'tick foe'. So far, it has been great! We are in a small group with couples from schools in Ecuador and Korea as well as another couple heading to a school in Spain. Our leader was born in Dalat, Vietnam, went to Dalat School and has lived in Africa for all of his adult life serving at different schools. The teen leader is awesome and has planned some great activities aside from the classroom teaching including swimming in the afternoon and a day excursion to Buffalo, NY.
We thought Houghton was only one street with the college buildings working their way up a hill. But tonight, for Kaleb's driving practice, we headed off on some small side roads and found the rest of the town hidden on narrow, winding streets, even further up in the hills. It's absolutely breathtaking. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
Church this morning was great, too. We sang some great old Wesley hymns, like the ones we sing at camp. The sun was shining in through the huge stained glass windows so it gave everything a celestial feel. And the New Testament reading was exactly what I had read this morning before breakfast from Colossians - I love it when God does that!!
So all in all, our first day has been a great experience. Here's to the next 12 days at the tick foe!
