* Sudoku - heard of it? I lose Tim whenever he comes near one of those puzzles. He gets in a zone and becomes really focused. He's working on a "diabolic" one right now and probably won't go to sleep til he completes it. Oh, to have a logical mind like that!
* We went for a drive to find a grocery store since breakfast at 7 am didn't sound too appealing. Houghton is really just one street and this big Wesleyan college down one side. We didn't see one new house in sight - everything is at least 50 years old and each house has a lovely porch. A few miles down in another "blink and you'll miss it" town was a Dollar Store. For $16, we bought a jug of apple juice, a jug of milk, a ball to kick around on the lawn tomorrow, a frisbee, a box of cereal, five bowls for the cereal, a shower curtain (see below), Fritos (Tim's favourite) and some other snack food. Then we went next door to the grocery store and bought bananas, six cinnamon buns and a box of plastic cutlery for $5. Amazing, eh? Or should I say huh?
* OK, here's something to ponder. The list of things to bring did not include a shower curtain but there wasn't one in our bathroom so we bought one at the Dollar Store. I mentioned to the kids tonight that I might take a long, hot bath. Kaleb said I couldn't since there was no plug to be found in the bathroom. If no shower curtain is supplied, one would assume you were supposed to take a bath. If no plug is supplied either, we could all be smelly by the end of this thing or the bathroom floors would all be wet. I don't get it......
* We stopped today in at my friend's house to deliver the rocking chair. Right now as I type this, I wish I had taken a picture of her house. I couldn't believe it!! Huge 12' (or maybe even 14') double doors at the front of this gorgeous two storey yellow brick house on a quaint and quiet street in St Thomas. And inside - WOW!! What a house - it just kept going and going and going! So many huge rooms with hardwood floors, thick baseboards and crown mouldings. I love old homes - they feel so alive and lived in and loved. The previous family lived there for 51 years before my friends bought it. I hope Cheryl and Jonathan have just as many wonderful and memorable years with their family in that spectacular home.

I'm so glad to hear that you guys made it safely to NY. I will be praying that Kaleb's asthma gets better. I know that the weather on that side of the country can be quite awful for someone with asthma. I grew up in Ontario and now when I go home to visit I DEFINITELY notice the humidity and the heaviness in the air. You will continue to be in my prayers!!
Thanks for your thoughts, Kelle girl! Glad to hear you had a great time in Edmonton :)
