Stuck in Jakarta
We left Bandung early this morning on a 'travel', a van that drove like mad down the new toll road between Bandung and Jakarta. We arrived at the airport to a line-up at the Air Asia counter with all those flying to KL. When the line was gone, I walked up to see how quickly we could get boarding passes to Penang so we could make our way through the second security section to get something to eat. Guess what? The flight is NOT today - it has been changed to tomorrow!! And they attempted to call us but we were not available. So we are back at the Alliance Guest House, after getting burgers at A&W and treats at Dunkin' Donuts. We'll hit the big mall we missed last time so the kids can spend the rest of their rupiahs and will get back to Penang late, late tomorrow night. This is our third trip with Air Asia and all have been very eventful - I fly with them again next week to Thailand so here's hoping I get there and back OK!!

Well, it's a good thing there was a place for you to stay. Let's hope and pray for a safe trip back home, although it's now 8:00 AM EST 01/01/09 and you're probably back home! In case you're not, know that we're praying for you.
Since you had a place to stay one more day of vacation does not sound too bad. Glad you are flexible enough to go with the flow. Safe Travels.
At least it's not a blizzard throwing off your plans! :)
I agree with Colleen Taylor...Pat, Wendy and I were in the eye of the blizzard on New Years Eve and are very fortunate & blessed to have made it safely. We could not see anything and did not have any idea where we were!!!
