This past week

Annie is finally perking up after six days of a brutal virus. She missed school all week and is just now beginning to eat again. I took her to a pediatrician that was recommended although at age 14, we weren't sure she would be admitted to that clinic. They did let her in and we had a great time in a very colorful waiting room watching toddlers and babies play with all the toys. Annie even got to be examined on a Thomas the Tank Engine bed!! The doctor said she had some issues with her gall bladder as well so that was the reason for the lengthy sickness. She is showered and out on the porch today having eaten two crackers with peanut butter instead of lying in bed. It's the first food she has had since Saturday!

We had an intruder in our laundry area out back. He was very nimble and climbed over the gate and between the barbed wire! Tim saw him from the dorm kitchen and came running through the apartment out the back door. We think he was going through Tim's tools that are kept out there and it does make sense in regards to some missing clothes that we hung on the line to dry. Anyway, he was quick in his getaway and kept saying "no passport" so obviously didn't want to be caught. The next day, the maintenance guys installed a metal bar over the gate so hopefully no one can slip between that and the gate. Arms, however, can still reach my laundry line so I think I'll put the oldest clothes closest to the fence. And the guards are adamant that if anything like this happens again, that we call them to come and do their job, which they take very seriously.

Track and field was held this past Wednesday at the University track. It was a great day all around - the weather was outstanding, junior class did huge sales of freezies and cold drinks and the kids had a great time being out of the classroom for a day doing the events together.

It's basketball season and our girls are hosting four other teams for a tourney this weekend. That means Tim is out selling hamburgers and stuff at junior class table....five tournaments down, one to go!

Poor Annie! I am glad to hear she is feeling better.

The thought of someone in your little back area is scary! I hope the new bar does the trick to keep two legged intruders out.

Dalat is a community that shares... usually that is a good thing - except for right now - its that brutal virus that has been shared, WITH ME! :) I forgive you Archers. Even though its vicious and painful at present :) Love you for stopping by to love me with your company the past two days in the midst of craziness Shauna.

Sounds like you have your hands full and your hearts as well..praying for peace for those who are weary and overburden, praying for bodies bogged down with the bug...and a sense of order and well being in Chandler.
