Our third reptile visitor

The other day, Marigan went running down the steps of the dorm to get her shoes on. She heard a hissing sound and turned around to face a small cobra rearing up at her, fanning its hood. Her screams brought Uncle Tim running and he managed to catch it with the reptile pole. Because it was small and thin, the snake escaped quickly out of the noose. Kaleb managed to keep it 'entertained' on the porch for a bit without getting too close so Tim could get some pictures of it. Finally, Laura's dad put an end to our visitor with a shovel. Several small cobras have been seen around campus and upper field so a new crop must have hatched recently and the heavy rains are probably driving them to drier places. I missed all this exciting activity since I was out grocery shopping! The nationals say that cobras travel in pairs so we are all very alert and on guard for another potential visitor.
