Faithful service

Today, after school, we honored two national staff members who have served Dalat for many, many years and are now retiring. Thana has served in the laundry for 37 years. That's hard to believe in this day and age when people change jobs so frequently. Thana takes her job very seriously and works very hard to clean, fold and iron the students' clothes in the hottest building on campus. She is also an amazing prayer warrior and humble servant of the Lord. In order to leave Dalat, she asked the Lord for five things and has persevered in prayer for several years. All five prayers have been answered so Thana decided it was time to retire. She will be deeply missed not only by students but also staff members, some of whom were dorm students here at one time with Thana doing their laundry!

Years ago, Thana convinced her friend, Shama, to apply for an office position here. Shama has now put in 30 years and is retiring to do other things like teach English and work with a local magazine. She is bright and vibrant personality on campus so she will be thoroughly missed by many.

As was said at the farewell today, 'once a part of the Dalat family, always a part of the Dalat family'.
