Spring break....

was awesome!! We took two days to hang out together as a family, sleeping in, reading, playing games, going to the movies. Bright and early Tuesday morning, we loaded up with two other families for our 6 hour trip to the east coast of Malaysia where we ferried out to Perhentian Besar Island. What a fabulous experience!! We laid on the white sand beach and snorkeled in the gorgeous blue water with turtles, stingrays, sharks and a myriad of colorful fish. The guys rented a boat to go deep sea fishing one morning and brought home a catch that the restaurant workers fried up for us that night. The girls took to the water in kayaks and checked out some coral beaches and another island where the swimming beach was to die for! We relaxed, ate good food, enjoyed our friends' company and made lasting memories. Every holiday we have here keeps getting better and better!! I'll post more pictures when Annie downloads her pics and I get the underwater cameras developed. Hanging out at the restaurant over the water.
Apparently this 14 year old doesn't like standing next to her mother.....
This is the open air restaurant overlooking the ocean that we ate and played games at everyday.
Here is some of our fish feed being grilled - the rest was fried in the kitchen.Yummy!!
If any of us got bored, we always had the opportunity to rock Sam to sleep.
This is the beach in front of our 'huts' - we could snorkel right here.
To the left of our beach and restaurant was the dive shop and the boat taxi service.
We like it here - do we have to leave?

The drive through the mountains had these signs posted along the way. We were desperately hoping to see an elephant in the wild - we saw piles of droppings as evidence that some has passed by - but at least we got the picture of the sign!

WOW! Can we go there? I agree, every place you go looks better than the last. Wonderful vacations. Does Tim have invisible braces? I don't see them in the pictures.
