St Patrick's Day

We are celebrating St Patrick's Day with green food: kool aid, cupcakes and waffles for senior treat tonight. Those that could found something green to wear to school today, however small, without breaking the dress code.

Years ago, when I worked at Pioneer Village in the recreation dept, I led the sing songs in the afternoon. One great song called Bless This House was an old Irish tune and the residents sang it with gusto. I have long lost the piano music but found the words today while looking for a St Patrick's Day game. Its our prayer for Chandler dorm and for your home too. Hope you enjoy!

Bless This House
Bless this house, o Lord, we pray.
Make it safe by night and day.
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out.
Bless the roof and chimney tall,
Let thy peace lie over all.
Bless the doors that they may prove
Ever open to joy and love.
Bless the windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heavenly light.
Bless the hearth a-blazing there,
With smoke ascending like a prayer.
Bless the people here within
Keep them pure and free from sin.
Bless us all, that one day, we
May be fit, O Lord, to dwell with Thee.

Shauna I have not heard that song for a long time but we used to sing it all the time...thanks for the wonderful memories it invokes in me. Bruce and I made a CD with all sorts of old music and pics for our McFadden/Douglas/Tincher reunion this past Saturday nite and so old music seems to the agenda these days.
