Thursday thread

* One hour left for Tim before the braces go on! He's got quite a cough so hopefully that won't impede the process at all.
* Kaleb took a soccer ball to the eye last night. Its still swollen today but so far, no indication of a black eye.
* The softball tournament schedule was released and our boys play a triple header on Monday! Annie plays two games on Tuesday for the under 18 team and three on Wednesday with the under 15 girls. Pitching will be a huge issue for us in all games - we lost one solid girls pitcher this week to an injury. The girls volleyball schedule is also out and we play at 8 am (UGH!) on Tuesday morning. This season, we haven't won a game yet because the competition is fierce and the girls haven't quite mastered our new defensive pattern. So basically, as coaches, we have no expectations for the tournaments except for the kids to have fun and play their hearts out!
* Our congrats to Laura who landed a large scholarship at the college of her choice which means a semester studying in London, England!
* My washing machine is broken and that is a major problem in this climate!! Maintenance will come today to see if they can fix it. Laundry is piling up so I think I'll make a trip across the street to the laundromat. They charge $1/kg to wash and dry :)
* The kids have tomorrow, Good Friday, off from school. Our weekend plans include a trip to a new water park and out for supper to Pizza Hut, a trip to the movie theatre as there are a record 6 approved movies for our students to see, a sunrise baptism service followed by breakfast, church and a buffett lunch at the famous and beautiful Eastern and Oriental Hotel.
* We have made reservations over on the east coast to go snorkeling on Perhentian Island for spring break. Its a long drive over through the jungle but it will be worth it to snorkel with sharks, turtles and other big fish.
