Saturday news

* Tim found a new dentist and had two top teeth pulled on Thursday morning. He was sick with a cough and cold going in to this so he really isn't feeling well today. He has one, if not two, more to be pulled this coming Wednesday and the braces go on the following week. Thanks for your prayers for his sore mouth and recovery.
* Our senior class snuck away again! Word of this sneak leaked out and the pile of luggage in Mr S's math room didn't help keep things under wraps. But still some of our middle school kids had no idea til last night that the whole senior snuck away at 3 p.m. yesterday for the Genting Highlands theme and water park. They'll be back on Sunday evening. Its quite unusual for a senior class to raise so much money that they have enough to do a mini sneak on top of their four day sneak so I think this class of seniors are pretty outstanding!
* Softball tournaments are coming up and we are entering 3 teams for the first time that anyone can remember. We have a full roster for under 15 girls (Annie is playing first base), under 18 girls (Annie is left field) and under 18 boys (Kaleb is centre field and working on pitching). Originally these tournaments were scheduled for the week of our spring break from school and we were having a hard time getting enough kids but the softball association moved everything to the week before break so we are excited :)
* With the ball tournaments being moved, I decided we should go away as a family during break to Singapore. I found online flights for $1 but was having a hard time finding a hotel room for four that wouldn't break the bank. The best bet was the YMCA with a family room that included breakfast so I booked online. Today, the cheap flights are gone and the hotel responded with "no vacancy" so I guess that a good sign from the Lord that Singapore is not our destination for this trip.
* Today is election day in Malaysia - tons of posters and propaganda are all over the streets. Not sure if the outcome of this election will make any difference to our lives...stay tuned.

Tim Phillips says he feels your pain. Tim had two teeth pulled this month and he was miserable! He is feeling much better now, but says the spaces feel weird!
