Holiday

We had a wonderful, restful break about three hours south. We stayed in the little town of Lumut, next to the naval base in a three bedroom condo type unit. It had a kitchen so we brought snacks and breakfast food along. Lumut is mainly a tourist destination for those wanting to ferry out to Pangkor Island so there were a lot of neat little shops and some really good restaurants like Capri's Italian Cuisine, Rockafellas Steak House and Jook's Joint Bistro (not to mention all-you-can-eat nasi kandar, tandoori and naan on every corner, too!).

We slept in, hung out at the condo pool, sat on the balcony watching the monkeys in the rain forest, ferried out to Pangkor for jet skiing and snorkeling and even took a day trip into Kuala Lumpur for shopping at IKEA. We loved snorkeling with the fish and seeing the brightly colored coral, sea urchins and sea cucumbers, although after a few hours of floating in the ocean, we were burned to about medium rare. All in all, we loved the experience and will definitely go back again sometime.

The main street of Lumut.

I am Jacques Cousteau!!
Gilligan and MaryAnne building a raft to get off the island :)
This is where the most beautiful, irridescent tropical fish were found.

Hanging out on the beach.
Even though we had driven jet skis before, Tim and Kaleb had to have the instructions given to them again. All Kaleb wanted to know was how fast it went!
