Last night, the Parent-Teacher Organization hosted an International Food Fair on the street right below our dorm. A bunch of moms made different kinds of food and sold it - stuff like spicy chili, chicken satay, glutinous rice, curried chicken, shrimp and squid pancakes, brownies and more. The junior class also sold pizza and sno-cones. The street was packed with Dalat families enjoying their evening meal here on campus.
After that was over, the annual fundraiser Junior for Hire took place. Each junior student was auctioned off for three hours of work. The four Chandler dorm juniors were sold for: RM 420 Jon, RM 250 Naomi, RM 200 Marigan and RM 200 Kirsten.
And while all this was going on, we were hosting an under 18 girl's basketball tournament in our gym. Tim went over for a little while and met a man from Regina who is now teaching in Kuala Lumpur and knows people from Lumsden. This fellow said the principal of the school he is at in KL is also from Regina and goes home every summer to recruit more teachers. So apparently there is quite a large group of Regina folks down in KL!

Interesting to find a community from Saskatchewan when far from there. There is a large community here in Kaohsiung (Taiwan) also.
