Every year, the junior class works really hard fundraising by selling candy brought from North America, having work days and being sponsored by family and friends back home. The money they raise goes towards two initiatives - JSB and Senior Sneak. JSB is the Junior Senior Banquet sometime in May. Its a huge deal and a longstanding tradition at Dalat. We can't wait to be a part of it.
The Senior Sneak is a trip in the first semester. Its called a sneak because no one except the seniors plus their class sponsors are to know when its going to happen and where they are going to go. But eventually word leaks out and rumors start to fly.
Well, our seniors snuck out last night...I should say this morning. At 5 a.m., our three seniors plus their 43 classmen boarded two buses to head to some undisclosed location in Thailand for four days. We knew about it because our seniors told us - they were all so excited!! And because the class sponsor was to shut the dorm alarm off from the outside and it would beep in our bedroom. That's a sure sign someone is sneaking out!! We hope they have a wonderful time away.

Sounds fun and actually reminds me of when I was in my senior year in a school away from home and we also went on a trip. I won't say how many years ago that was. It seems to be a tradition that lives on...and on.
