Team roles

I took a Team Roles Questionnaire that Glendyne had forwarded to me. She got wind of it at the Leading Women conference in Calgary. I took the test and submitted it to be analyzed. Here are my results:

I'm VERY high in

PLANT
Purpose: To challenge established practice & introduce new ways of looking at things
Typical Features: Individualistic, Serious-minded, Unorthodox, Creative (serious minded??? they must be joking but I will give them unorthodox!)

RESOURCE INVESTIGATOR
Purpose: To keep up to date with what goes on outside the team; To create external contacts
Typical Features: Extroverted, Enthusiastic, Curious

TEAM BUILDER
Purpose: To build on people’s contributions; To facilitate communication & maintain good working atmosphere
Typical Features: Socially orientated, Strong “people” person, Sensitive, Values relationships

I'm low on

IMPLEMENTER
Purpose: To turn ideas & plans into practical working procedures; To carry out agreed plans systematically & efficiently
Typical Features: Conservative, Stable, Predictable (stable is not a word people use to describe me very often!)

SHAPER
Purpose: To get things moving
Typical Features: Highly strung, Outgoing, Dynamic

And I didn't score at all with Completer/Finisher (it gets boring seeing things to the end, right?), Coordinator and Monitor/Evaluator.

It was fun to do and always helpful to evaluate one's strengths and weaknesses. And it pretty much summed up the way I'm wired.
