Annie has to share about Malasyia with her class next week and Tim and I have to do a presentation in church so we're working on a couple of powerpoints. I found this picture and love it! This view is from Penang Hill, a place where the students from Dalat go on hikes. It's absolutely beautiful - no wonder Penang is known as the Pearl of the Orient.
Somedays we have to pinch ourselves to be reminded this is NOT a dream. And yet we are starting to feel overwhelmed by the details that need to be taken care of and the impending good byes.
Tim is glad to be leaving his work - it was just a job, nothing more although a few of his shift partners are devastated he's leaving. That may be the reason they are throwing three separate parties for him, that or they just like to party!
My job, however, has never been a job. It's been a huge source of joy and fun and learning opportunities. Until recently, I wasn't even sure what I was paid per hour because it didn't matter and I didn't care. All those people I am leaving behind are like family in a way and I will miss them deeply. And our small group Bible study friends in Lumsden - I can't even think about saying good bye to them after all we've been through together. And then there's family - I'm not even going to go there or I will start to cry.
Excitement, fear, anticipation, dread... its all rolled up into one these days in our house. That's probably why we are all exhausted at night and sleeping in each day. I'm so thankful for the peace that passes our human comprehension that is guarding our hearts and minds on a daily, even hourly, basis.

I was praying Sunday morning that your family would have a special measure of peace..and that God would assure all of you of the amazing plan he has to come.
Thanks for that - I was praying for you that morning. Glad to read that the race went well. Have you gone for a good massage yet?
