The cottage was in a chaotic mess for over a week while we ripped out carpet, painted and painted some more. We had hoped to paint the floor as well as the ceiling and walls but got too tired of not being able to find anything and living with suitcases stacked on the couch in the middle of the room. But, even though we didn't accomplish everything we had hoped, it turned out pretty good in the end.
Tim painting the primer and ... then painting the "Beach Tan" yellow. Annie and I tackled her little room after we cleared all the storage bins out. Here's the finished product - the living room, dining area and Annie's room.
I'm living a dream on the beach in SE Asia with my best friend, a guy named Tim who I've been married to for 22 years, and our two awesome teenagers. We are dorm parents to 9 other students, better known as Third Culture Kids, who hail from America, Canada, Cambodia, Thailand, England and Australia. We love it here - the sticky humidity, barking geckos, fresh fruit, naan bread, amazing people and breathtaking scenery.
