Early, early Monday morning, we dragged everyone out of bed to head to the morning market for breakfast. Tim usually takes the order on Sunday night and goes to the market the next morning to get fresh breakfast for us all. But we decided everyone should go the last time. It was a lot of fun and the kids actually made it out of bed on time. Rosie, the fresh juice and kopi pang lady, was delighted to have all of us there! And Chinese pancakes are way better fresh off the griddle anyway. Then that evening, we celebrated Kirsten's 18th birthday a month in advance with homemade angel food cake and strawberries.
I'm living a dream on the beach in SE Asia with my best friend, a guy named Tim who I've been married to for 22 years, and our two awesome teenagers. We are dorm parents to 9 other students, better known as Third Culture Kids, who hail from America, Canada, Cambodia, Thailand, England and Australia. We love it here - the sticky humidity, barking geckos, fresh fruit, naan bread, amazing people and breathtaking scenery.
