Sad day

Yesterday, Sadie's owners called after we put up a sign at the nearby vet clinic. They only live a few blocks from the school and a couple doors down from the art teacher. It was a sad day for some dorm students (and one dorm mom) who had grown to love the little bundle of fur in the four short days she shared with us. I offered to buy Sadie aka Chloe but the owner knew her children would not like that and I could understand that. So we bid a tearful farewell to her and are missing her presence around the dorm today. Some of the kids were upset that we would even bother to look for the owners but we explained how badly they would feel if it was their dog that was lost and those who found the dog didn't make any effort to find its home. In the end it was a good lesson in doing what's right even though it was hard.

Oh Shauna, I am so sad for you. We were talking about your dog yesterday during our staff prayer time and how attached you all seemed to be. May God give you wisdom as you teach the right thing to do even though it is hard! Miss ya, Heather

I am so sad for you too!! I thought Annie's prayers had been answered. Such a cute little pup! Piper was so excited for you..they don't have a dog right now and Piper even thought the dog was a Chichauhau (sp.)

That is sad news for your household. I have been wondering how Tim's allergies were with a dog in the house. It was a good thing you did, caring for and loving that puppy until the owners turned up.

Oh, how sad! But, you did the right thing! And who knows...just the right dog may around yet!
