Just stuff

We are back from two days at Bukit Merah. We received two free night's stay in the hotel there and it was quite a nice room by Malaysian standards. That means the mold/mildew was at an acceptable level (as opposed to unacceptable, unable to breath, smells like rotten socks level). And the room could actually sleep four people, which most Asian hotels cannot do.

We didn't bother with the waterpark pass since we've been there before but did go out to Orangutan Island and through the EcoPark. The baby orangutans were SO cute - little diapers on, laying in cribs. These orangutans have been abandoned and are transported to the island for care and rehabilitation back into nature. The EcoPark is basically a zoo where you can feed the animals. Tim had a 5 month old civet cat crawling all over his shoulders as he fed it. They are nocturnal so we don't see much of the ones around the dorm but this little guy was really cute although he smelled kinda bad (which led to an allergy attack later!). We also saw a huge, I mean HUGE python. It was close to 20' long and most of its trunk was way bigger than my thigh and its head was twice a human hand span. Incredible. Lots of other animals too - hamsters, ostriches, deer, monkeys, crocs, fish.... Lots to see.

We arrived back to lovely, earth tone tile in our bathroom. They should be finished the backsplash by tomorrow and I'll be able to clean before leaving. We don't have our personal amah anymore so I have to clean the bathroom for the first time in over a year!!! I'm sure no one feels sorry for me.....

Five sleeps til we land on Canadian soil and see our kidlets. Kaleb is counseling at Dallas Valley and Annie is hanging out with family. Now I'm getting hungry so we will have to figure out what to do for supper. Food is getting low in our apartment so will probably head to the stalls for nasi kandar or nasi goreng or my personal favorite, naan with dahl. See you all soon!
