Bundles of blessings

This morning's devotion was from Psalm 136 . I would read a line and the kids would respond with the next line "His love endures forever". It was a great way to signal the final day of school for this academic year, remembering all that God has done for us since we came together last August.

In that spirit, here are some of the blessings we have had heaped upon us for which we are grateful:

* New friends here who opened their home to our dorm (see picture). Immigrants to Canada years ago, they are now in Malaysia for business and their son attends Dalat. We enjoyed a feast at their spacious home (complete with fish pond in the middle of one of the two living rooms!!) and are so thankful to be making deep connections with folks here.
*Two wonderful staff ladies who are willing (and even excited) about journeying with Kaleb and Annie on the international leg of their flight back to Canada.

* A notary public here on campus who signed the traveling documents for free.

* The US Embassy on campus today to renew Tim's US passport.

* A vehicle for summer use. We have been praying as a family for a few months now for all the particulars of our summer stay in Canada and one concern was a vehicle. Two nights ago, Tim and I discussed our options and decided to send out a notice to our home church to see if someone had an extra set of wheels for us to borrow. The very next morning, before I could even write the email, a friend wrote to say that he would cycle to work during July so we could have his car. And he'll even bring it to the airport when we arrive back! This is a huge, HUGE blessing for us to have a friend willing to sacrifice to make our stay easier and convenient.

* An awesome yearbook that chronicles our first year at Dalat. I have never seen a yearbook quite as extensive as this one and its a joy to watch everyone running around getting others to sign. Its a bit harder to write something meaningful to each student in a short space - I mean how do you sum up 260+ days together in a few sentences? This verbose sanguine is having difficulty with that!! Hopefully what can't be said by words on a page has been said by actions from the heart.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever!
