Saying good-bye

Mom and Dad left very early this morning. We all were up around 5 a.m. and at the airport by 6. Their flight left at 8 a.m. Jan 21 and they will arrive in Regina at 6 p.m. Jan 21 - same day! Going home is a lot quicker as their layovers in both Hong Kong and Vancouver are shorter and the leg over the Pacific is also shorter by 3 hours due to the trade winds.

They had a good time (despite the heat!) and saw many incredible things including the civet cat who showed its dexterity on the power lines late Friday night as we sat on the porch. We thoroughly enjoyed having them live with us and see our new world. But I'm sure they will be very happy to get home to their own bed and routines and decent Canadian beef!!
Thanks to all who made is possible for Mom and Dad to come and visit - those who took care of Barley, watched their house, kept their car and prayed for them daily. We appreciate your help!
And a special thanks also to the ladies from Avonlea who sent the wonderful assortment of food products that we don't find here. I am now rationing the cherry pie filling, mini marshmallows and butterscotch baking chips over the next five months to make sure we don't run out!! And the dill pickle chips, although crushed to a pulp, were awesome. Thank you for blessing us in this way.
Bye, Mom and Dad. Thanks for coming. We love you both and hope the memories of your Asian trip will stay vivid for a long, long time. See you in July!

Good-byes are hard. It's wonderful they were able to visit. I'm sure it was an unforgettable time for them and for you.

It is so true that say goodbye is difficult...You all look so happy..and you will remember and cherish these memories in your hearts for years and years. I am so pleased the civet cat showed up for them...icing on the cake at the end of their wonderful journey!!! I am very curious about this cat...I am feeling much better and think I have turned a corner...a toasted tomato sandwich stayed with me...cottage cheese however did not...I have much more energy and my whole body is starting to feel more like mine. Have a great week with your returning students and with your new student...Did you get all those odds & ends done Shauna?

Much love and many blessings
