We woke up to a bright sunshiny day, the first since Saturday's rains settled in. So, after our dentist appointments this morning, we decided to ride the rail car up Penang Hill to overlook the city and see the hotels built by the British years ago. The ride up was interesting. The British built the rail system back in the early 1900's to take people up for rest and retreat. Today, its a huge tourist attraction and so people are crammed into the rail cars. Our car, which sat 7, held 14 today!! Midway up, we had to change cars as one cable isn't long enough to go all the way.
It was a breathtaking view east to the mainland and a very enjoyable experience for Mom and Dad considering it was much cooler up there with a lovely breeze. We could see as far northeast as the land reclamation project near us but then Pearl Hill got in the way and so we couldn't see our subdivision, Tanjung Bunga. Oh well!!
