The wellspring of joy

Tears are good. Cleansing. A release. Many different reasons for the tears but all of them bring a tremendous and deep sense of joy.

Notes in the mail from women who pray for us every Tuesday. "We rejoice with you for answered prayer and we weep with your for the needs.... I pray that you will be given extra wisdom... May God's grace be abundant to you all.... We love you so much...." Such wonderful words of encouragement across the miles.

Hearing family voices over the phone and catching up on everyone's lives, even if it is only the daily routine events.

Email news of the healing of Kaleb's friend who suffered mercilessly from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The youth pastor felt moved to pray and involved the whole youth group, who are all profoundly touched by this miracle.

The very personal "Personal Reflections" received that clearly remind me God sees the beginning from the end and stands beyond the confines of this earth to bring about His will, in His time, for His pleasure.

Watching three of my kids - one biological and two newly received - using their God-given gifts to act in a hilarious play that made me laugh til I cried.

Standing on upper campus, the coconut trees swaying in the breeze, the ocean rolling on endlessly and being amazed that this is my home.

Psalm 126:3 "The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
