Update

We made it to the end!!! The final student left our dorm on Friday at 3:30 pm. We crashed hard on Saturday - I didn't get out of my pj's til 3 pm. And the power didn't go off in our dorm....although it did everywhere else on campus so the poor other dorm parent families, who were just as tired as us, had to head to the mall for five hours to cool off.

Sunday after church we went to Prangan Mall to a great Thai restaurant for lunch with two other families. I had the mango chicken salad, which is now the spiciest thing I have eaten since arriving. Tears were running down my cheeks, my face was turning red and my esophagus was burning - boy, was it good!! They also made the best fresh fruit smoothies I've ever had so we'll definitely be going back. Prangan Mall is hilarious - we had to take the escalators up three levels, walk across the mall and take the escalators down two levels to get to the restaurant. That's what happens when there is no long term planning for construction projects.

On Monday I went to the beach to read and sleep, did laundry, and cleaned out the fridge. Kaleb and Annie have secured morning jobs here on campus, mostly against their wills. The middle school is having the floors replaced so Tim had the maintenance dept hire them, along with some other kids, to remove desks and books from the rooms. Annie also ended up raking leaves today, too. She wasn't impressed with that - leaf raking is an all year round job here.

Today, when Annie was done work and showered, we went to the mall Christmas and grocery shopping minus Kaleb who was coming later with friends. Both Kaleb and Annie are done their shopping but I still need something else for Tim and we need the "big, expensive gift" for Annie. With a wonderfully refreshing, cool ocean breeze, we played tennis well after dark tonight.
