I can't seem to post picture for the last couple of days and not sure why. Any other blog friends experiencing the same problem??
I'm home from church with our Thai boy who is quite sick. We got all the way to church but he ended up losing his breakfast in the parking lot so I brought him back to bed. Its so quiet here now. I'll blog for a bit and then take the opportunity to read my Bible in peace :)
I've entitled this post "Random stuff" but I really should refrain from using that word "random". It gets overused here in our dorm everyday. Its like the new buzz word - "That's so random!!", "Are you ever random today!", "What a random shirt you are wearing!". The way the kids use this word is just plain strange and really....um, random!
We welcome an addition to our extended family as of Friday, Dec 1. Sean and Christy now have their fifth child, a little girl named Madelyn Grace, to keep the 'M' alliteration going with Max, Megan, Miller and Mason!! Congratulations and rich blessings to you on the birth of your new little treasure. This makes a baker's dozen of grandchildren for Tim's parents - WOW!
The weather here has been outstanding the past few weeks - not overly hot, lovely ocean breezes and wonderful thunderstorms to cool things off at night.
Only 12 sleeps til the kids all leave for Christmas break. We have a lot to accomplish in those short days - projects and assignments, final exams, Christmas party, shopping for Christmas party, two birthday parties, two band concerts, meetings, accreditation work....yeah, we'll all be exhausted by the end.
I've been designated the unofficial 'Social Coordinator' for the dorm team and am planning two events over the break for anyone who's still around. It will be fun to eat, play games and hang out together without worrying about curfew!!
We now have two students in our dorm who are officially dating. One of our girls floated into the dorm on Friday night after being asked out by a very respectful, kind Korean fellow. Here at Dalat, the policy is that the fellow needs to come and ask the dorm dad for permission to date his dorm daughter. That conversation took place yesterday with Tim taking the opportunity to 'grill' the young fellow on his intentions, potential activities for upcoming dates and the need to honour our dorm daughter. We think very highly of this young man and hope this was a good learning experience for him.
That's all for now. Hopefully I can figure out the picture problem so you can see our dorm service project that was completed yesterday. Bye for now.
