At 8 a.m, we were awoke by the sound of singing outside our bedroom door. The 'singing to wake the parents' is part of Tim's tradition growing up, except he and his four siblings did this at 6 a.m. - UGH! Kaleb and Annie did a very interesting version of Away in a Manger for us today. I then requested the operatic and country western versions!!
When we gathered in the lounge, Kaleb read the Matthew version of the Christmas story and Annie read from Luke. We all thanked the Lord for many things and then began the gift opening. Both Tim and I were impressed with Kaleb and Annie's thoughtfulness in choosing our gifts. Among other wonderful things, Tim got some nice Malaysian shirts, I got the leg weights I requested for the walking club I'm starting, Kaleb got a docking station for his Ipod, Annie received speakers for her new walkman to use in her room and both the kids got thumb drives to use for homework. Earrings, bracelet charms, books, CD's, backpack, calendars and more completed the list.
Lots more great activities are planned for our tropical Christmas Day so I'll post more later. Rich Christmas blessings of laughter and joy to family and friends far and near!!

Thanks for sharing your Christmas with us! It sounded not too different than if you had been at home in Canada. By the way, Ted will be here in the morning, I hope he won't get up at 6:00 and start singing!!! One year we woke up to him singing at the top of his lungs but it was only about 2:30! He went back to bed and at 6:00 sharp we woke up to Pam, Ted, Tim, Christy, and Rob singing, "We Wish You A Merry Christmas!" Oh, what memories...
We do the waking up now - the boys just want to sleep in. I was still up at 6 and making cinnamon rolls by 7. I think it was 9 when we finally woke Andrew up. So I say - enjoy it while you can!
