Christmas dinner was an absolutely scrumptious event for us. Brem and Donna, fellow Canadians, invited us over to share their turkey feast. Brem and Donna are uncle and aunt to Chad who married our friend Tasha and are dad and mom to Danae who stayed in our dorm for a week in November. Donna grew up in Regina and her mom is here visiting. Brem grew up in Ormiston and Calgary. Needless to say, we had a lot of interesting conversations about the people we all know.
The meal was a mouth-watering spread of things we haven't had since coming here. The turkey, albeit a small one that the meat vendor called a giant chicken, was too good to describe here in words. After the food settled, we played Settlers of Catan, a great game we are going to have to purchase for ourselves someday. When we got home, we called back to Canada and the States to wish family a Merry Christmas as they were just getting started with their day.
So our first tropical Christmas was a very memorable one and we are thankful to the Lord for all the new friends who helped make it so special for us. Even though it has been hard all week to get into the Christmas spirit without snow and cold weather, we feel really blessed to have a caring community of folks around us who shared their laughter and joy so freely with us.

What fun to see how your whole day went just as we are beginning ours. I wondered if it would be a little weird to have Christmas with no snow. It looks like you had a wonderful day.
We wish you many blessings from our incomparable Lord.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Johnsons.
