Volleyball

The junior girls' volleyball team that I help coach had their first games yesterday. We played Union School, a fully Malaysian team. They were very good but our girls held their own, even though we didn't win any of the five games we played. This is the first time some of our girls have ever played on a team and they were able to pull off some good defensive plays. Annie joined the team on the bench since her good friend, Beth, plays on the team.

Our coach, Lisa, is the PE teacher here. She and her husband, Bill, who is the Art teacher, are new this year although Lisa spent four years going to school here while her mom and dad were dorm parents. Lisa played on the Penang State women's volleyball team when she was a student here and her coach back then, Mr. Lee, was the coach for this Union girls' team yesterday!
