Happy thanksgiving

To all our American family and friends, we wish you a great Thanksgiving Day, turkey feast and early morning sales! Thanksgiving here at Dalat meant that our family was able to get off campus and fellowship with some other people. The dorm kids were all farmed out to willing teacher families so we linked up with two teacher families who didn't have any dorm students coming to their homes. The cafeteria prepared the entire meal (turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, buns, stuffing and pumpkin pie). All we had to do was take containers down there after 4 pm to get our food. Then after all our dorm students were on their way to their host homes, we headed out. Annie's friend, Danae, came with us since she's staying in our dorm for the week while her parents are in Indonesia. Danae is a cousin to friends of ours back in Calgary and we are thoroughly enjoying her bubbly personality.

Our deepest thanks to Brian and Tibbett and their children, George, Joseph and Emma, for their hospitality. Their apartment is absolutely outstanding. You can see their view of the ocean from the balcony. They have four large bedrooms, three bathrooms, an office, laundry area, kitchen and huge, huge living space in the centre. They have lived in Uzbekistan for nine years and lastly in Congo for three. We love their laid back attitude and their warmth. Celebrating with us also were Lisa and Bill and their kids, Daniel and Julia. Daniel's 8th birthday was yesterday so he and Annie enjoyed blowing out the candles on the cake I brought for them. It was a great evening, too short really, as we had to be back on campus around 8 pm for study hall.

Great food, good friends, awesome view, hearty laughter - thank you, Jesus, for all these gifts and so much more!
