Girl meets lizard - part two

I blogged earlier this week about meeting a monitor lizard on our front porch whom I thought may be our Lucy. It wasn't. Today, as I was heading out to do laundry on the back porch, Lucy was sitting out there quietly enjoying the sunshine by her drain entrance. Lucy is much smaller and more greyish in color than the long, black lizard I unexpectedly met on Monday. IF this new lizard continues to visit our dorm, we'll have to come up with another name ... some manly like Frederick, I think.

And it became a battle of the wills between Lucy and I this morning when I wanted to do laundry and she wanted to sun herself. I kept coming out the door, disturbing her siesta. She would look at me, somewhat disgustingly, and slowly slip down into the half drainpipe waiting for me to leave. I would go back inside, she would return to her sunny spot, I would quickly return with another load, she would move into the drain.... We repeated this a few times over until I think she got quite fed up with me and eventually deserted the place.

I think she'll enjoy our five day break as much as we will!!
