Shopping

On Friday night, Nellie came by to see if I wanted to head to Makro and then Bukit Jambel for some shopping. The dorm is fairly quiet on Friday nights with most of the older students off campus at the mall or the movies. Tim thought I should go and buy some new clothes if I could find any. So I snagged a couple of movies from Jaffray dorm, whose DVD collection is huge, and left Tim with the few kid who were left.

Makro is like the Real Canadian Wholesale store or a lesser version of Costco. I bought chocolate chips, which were much cheaper than at Cold Storage, and a few other needed items. The traffic was insane getting over to Bukit Jambel but it was worth the wait. At the Reject Shop and Cosmart, I found Old Navy, Gap and American Eagle t-shirts for RM 15 or about $4.60/each. I also found a great pair of denim capris and a pair of bright orange Bermuda shorts.

Its hard to believe but these are the first clothing items I have purchased since our week in Michigan in late June. And let me tell you how good it is to have some new clothes. We wear the same things over and over again - no new fall wardrobe needed around here. And the constant washing and hanging in the sun does wear things out considerably faster than at home.

So, as I have been telling everyone around here, if I look good in my new clothes, thank Nellie for taking me shopping!!

I am sure you look wonderful!! I thought there would be lots of that kind Asian creation stuff that I am so fond of over there...gauzy kinds of cotton you know...which might be cooler...maybe I will check what is left on sale racks here for you.
