Dorm supper

On Saturday, we enjoyed a home cooked supper together in our dorm. All the dorms will do this once a month to give kids a break from the cafeteria and to give the food services workers a night off. I made macaroni pizza casserole with lots of cheese, which is always a big hit here, jello salad, lettuce salad with Naomi's vinagrette dressing, biscuits and orange chocolate trifle for dessert.

We enjoyed a sharing time between the main course and dessert in the spirit of Thanksgiving weekend back home in Canada. Some of the things the kids are thankful for, in no particular order are: better cafeteria food this year, strong friendships, good dorm parents (yahoo! that's us!), a dorm mom who can cook :) and strong relationships with dorm family. Some of the things they would like to see changed are: later bedtime for middle school students, more off campus privileges and less homework. A lot of other good things were shared and everyone enjoyed the great fellowship around the tables.

It's nice that they expressed their appreciation of you. I'm thankful for you too!
