A couple weeks ago, Tim broke his baby toe on his left foot attempting to leap over the arm of the couch. His toe got caught in the wicker weave and stayed put while the rest of his body flew forward. OUCH!! It was a lovely shade of purple, red and blue and has now returned to normal color. Its still sore but he was able to put a pair of shoes on carefully. During the worst of his pain, I had to drive everywhere because he couldn't clutch!
Last night, Kaleb and I went for a jog. We're were about twenty steps into the run when I went down like a ton of bricks. My left ankle was hot and burning. I had stepped on a banyan seed (see picture above). The seeds are huge and rock hard as well as rounded on both sides. After the burning subsided, Kaleb and Annie helped me hobble to the dorm, where we iced it down. Thankfully, I had just purchased a frozen bag of peas to use for just such a purpose! Sleeping was difficult last night until it stopped throbbing. Today I have a tensor bandage on it and am walking carefully and slowly.
I guess our over-forty bodies aren't as agile as they once were. Oh well - life goes one...or at least hobbles along. I don't want anybody's pity but sympathy sure would be nice!

OUCH!
You have my complete sympathy - I do know about foot/ankle pain. We don't realize how much we take our feet and the simple act of walking for granted until we lose it. My advice . . . take it easy - don't push yourself and you will heal faster and more completly - you don't want a nagging injury because you didn't let it heal. Besides you deserve a rest!
So sorry about your broken toe, I did the same thing one time and it still bothers me, I probaby didn't stay off it long enough.
Also sorry about your ankle, sure hope you won'tbe laid up to long, but its important to take care of it.
