Night out

Today was our day off. Tim and I kayaked for about an hour or so, stopping at Rat Island for a break. Sorry no pictures of that but we didn't want to lose our camera if we dumped! I'm sure my shoulders will be sore tomorrow.

For our supper this evening, the kids wanted to go the stalls and I wanted to go to Batu Ferringhi. So we hit the Red Chair stalls over that way. I'm sure there is another name for these stalls but I don't know it and everyone at the school just refers to it by the color of the chairs. Kaleb and Annie split a pizza with bread sticks, Tim went for the cashew shrimp with rice and I had spring rolls. Dessert was banana and chocolate Chinese pancakes.

We toured the market stalls later. I found a lovely Louis Vuitton purse - only RM 175. The salesman showed me all the features of this particular purse but I said no thanks. He then offered me, as the first customer of the night (if you believe that!), a special deal of only RM 165. Still no thanks. As I was leaving, he pulled me aside and said he couldn't resist giving me an incredible bargain - only RM 50 for this genuine Louis Vuitton. My suspicions tell me that if they can duplicate a Birkenstock sandal, they can duplicate a LV purse. So unfortunately, he didn't make a sale tonight...at least not to me.

It was a fun night to be out with the kids. Kaleb got a shirt to wear to church and a set of DVD's. Batu is only place we have found where the number of caucasian faces almost equals the number of Asian faces due to the high percentage of Australians living there and all the tourist traffic.

Sounds like a fun family night-out!
I'm so glad you get time for 'just family'so you can get away and do things with just the two of you or just the four of you. That's so important.
