Merdeka Day

Today, August 31, is the national day of independence for Malaysia. We have enjoyed a lazy day with the kids, sleeping in, watching a movie, cleaning the kitchen and enjoying the wonderful ocean breezes. Not many of us ventured off campus today because the traffic gets so bad as everyone goes out to celebrate and many from the mainland come to the island for festivities. In previous years, other staff members have sat in traffic for over two hours to go the 7 kilometres from the school to the mall. Not my definition of fun!!

Anyway, happy Merdeka to you!

Hope your holiday was good. The flag is pretty quite similar to the US flag.
We in Canada have a holiday this week end. Were hoping to go to a show and supper.
