Today the rain came early this morning and we had clothes on the line on the back porch. Tim went running past me to go grab the clothes and I was close behind him. Now the usual procedure for going out back is to bang the door once or twice so any thing out there knows we are coming. Tim missed this crucial step. Instead he quickly opened the door to the back porch but had to push hard because something was in the way. That "something" was Lucy, our monitor lizard, who lives in the drain out back. As he pushed the door open quickly, she took off like a shot, over his foot, scaring him half to death.
Just before she entered her drain domain, she turned and shot us both a disgusting look as if to say, "Really, did you have to shove me? I would have gladly moved if you had given me the proper signal." Then she disappeared.
We are dreadfully sorry, Lucy. From now on, we promise to bang the door not only to give you lots of notice but also to prevent causing ourselves heart failure!

Oh, you guys are great! I was so afraid Lucy had moved on after the last episode with her that you wrote about. I'm glad she's still there to give you a taste of wild life in Malaysia! That is, as long as she's harmless, I'm glad!
LOL - so many new things to learn!
Lucy must be a very large lizard if she stops the door from opening . Does she ever try to come into the house?
