Lots of people are asking us if we feel ready for the arrival of our dorm kids. As far as I know, practically speaking, we are ready. The dorm rooms are cleaned, sheets are on the beds, names are on the doors. The study room has all new desks and chairs, delivered just yesterday. The kitchen is now VERY clean and organized. Food is in the fridge.
Are we ready personally? We hope so. For four months, we have been anticipating meeting and connecting with these students. We have prayed for them by name and know most of their faces from pictures. We have heard great reports about each of them and their "unique" gifts and abilities. This is what we came halfway around the world for: these eleven students.
We are not so naive to believe that it will all be rosy. Bumps in the road are inevitable but we have common sense, a great dorm staff team to work thing through with and God's wisdom to access. All of that should help us over any bump we might encounter.
So the answer to the million dollar question "Are you ready?" is YES!
