OK, let us just recap what's happened in our lives in the last 48 hours. Tuesday morning, Tim, Kaleb and I headed to Lumsden for lunch with Peter and Carool and an appointment at the bank. We were also to have supper with Brad and Renee. When we arrived at Peter and Carol's, they announced that Brad had been up all night sick as a dog and they couldn't host us for supper. I felt kinda bad because I wondered it Brad's sicknes was due to something he ate the day before at Annie's baptism.
We had a lovely lunch of fresh garden food with Peter and Carol. Right after the strawberry rhubard pie, Tim suddenly stood up and said he was going to be sick. Sure enough, he spent a while in the bathroom and ended up on the bed, all pale and white. I went to the bank and eventually called Tim to come down to sign some papers. He looked weak. When we got back to Peter and Carol's house, Kaleb said that his tummy was not feeling well but he wanted to stay the night with Alex. We decided to let him stay with the assurance that there was Maalox in the house in case Kaleb needed it.
I drove back to the lake so Tim could sleep. Tim headed to bed immediately and I went to church. When I got home at 9 p.m., I found Tim on one couch and Kaleb on the other. Apparently Kaleb had thrown up so much that Carol brought him back (in her new car albeit with a bucket at his side!)
Both Tim and Kaleb were up several times in the night heading to the bathroom. Kaleb woke up around 8 a.m. to briefly sit up and drink some water. He then slept for the next 8 hours straight through. I finally woke him up because I was afraid he wouldn't sleep that night. Both he and Tim came around in the evening and today have really perked up. I told Annie if she was to get sick, it had to be today since we board the plane tomorrow and it would be brutal to be on a 12 hours flight with the stomach flu.
I did track down the culprits who gave us this lovely gift - two little treasures who have been coming by to play with Kaleb and Annie. They were apparently sick before coming to camp last week and they were at Annie's baptism, too. Now we have passed it on to my mom and to Kaleb's friend who stayed in the tent with him. Sorry to all but I'm sure at some point, you will receive this gift from somebody else. I just hope it isn't before a major life transition when you have a lot of packing to do!!!

Oh Shauna, I'm so sorry about Tim and Kaleb being sick right when you are at crunch time!! I understand the extra stress that puts on everybody! We are desperately trying to get our crates packed for the container to Niger and I can't imagine taking time out to be sick!! We will be praying for you that you and Annie will be well and that you have a good transition to Malaysia! Thanks for your prayers for my Dad. He came home from the hospital today and the doctors are very pleased with his progress. Thanks for checking our blog. That's how I found you. Actually I googled your name and found lots of interesting stuff!! Well back to packing. And give our love to your family!!
