Take 24 cans of pop, several bags of chips, two video game systems, one large tent, one small tent, some water balloons, 36 pancakes, two pitchers of juice and two pounds of bacon. Add to that seven teenage boys full of testosterone and adrenaline. What do you get? A very loud, raucous overnight party. Thank goodness our neighbours closed their windows as the noise level peaked with the winning of some video game around midnight.
I'm herding them together now and trying to get them to clean up enough to head home. Although they are incredibly excitable and motivated when it comes to playing video games, they seem very slow in packing things up. I must have missed explaining clearly to them that check-out time at Hotel Archer is 11 a.m.
As I say every year to the kids, "This is the last birthday party you get. Next year, its a quiet family supper." Yeah, right!
