Random thoughts

I had my last staff meeting today at work. To celebrate I bought chocolate and caramel covered apples from the Brickhouse Bistro in Lumsden. They were delicious. Doug also brought donuts but that was for postponing the meeting while he helped his daughter purchase a car. We are usually never lacking for food at work.

Tim and I just finished online personality testing for the pre-field orientation. I've done the Myers-Briggs before (I'm an ENFP) but had never completed something called "FIRO-BTM". It basically asked the same question over and over again in slightly different ways. At least this is another thing to check off our to-do list.

Congrats to Becky and Jessica who posted a time of 2:05:22 in the Peach City Half Marathon in Penticton this past weekend! They were trucking along :) http://www.peachcityrunners.com/marathon/pcm2006-half.txt

The conditions have been removed from the sale of our house!! We had a fellow come to the sale this past weekend and express his dismay at not knowing our house was for sale. He said he would have bought it. Then yesterday morning, while Tim was mowing the lawn, a girl I play v'ball with walked in to the yard and asked if she could buy our house.
All this interest in our cozy, little home! Alas, it is already sold (in God's timing no doubt) and we very thankful for that.

Tomorrow is another "head to the lake to organize, store and clean" day. We'll haul out a bunch of stuff we are not using and I'll try to make some semblance of order in the cabin. I love going to the lake - such great memories of going out there for the past 30 years and also of the 4 years of living there. The Arlington folks who live there are so gracious and kind - they always make us feel like we are coming home.

Congrats to James and Maura on the birth of their third son who I believe is yet to be named. This is 7th nephew for my brother and sis-in-law and the 8th grandson (or 11th grandchild) for Dennis and Wilda.

Tim and I went to see the new Robin Williams show last night "RV". It's rated "G" in Canada and is quite funny, especially if you have ever travelled in a motor home. Thanks to Peter and Carol for the Galaxy Theatre passes! We haven't been to a movie for over two years - I'd forgotten how great the popcorn smells :)
