On the road again

Kaleb is officially driving. He actually drove us part way home from the city yesterday. I sat in the back of the van and, along with Annie, was officially freaked out. At this age, he overcorrects too much - a lot like the old films of cops chasing robbers where they are yanking the steering wheel back and forth.

So there we are, hurtling along at 100 or more clicks, whistling down the Lumsden hill. I'm white knuckled, putting the Death Grip on the arm of my seat. Tim, on the other hand, is calm and cool in the front, giving Kaleb some much-needed, level-headed advice. Later the two of them went out in the truck to practice driving a standard.

Last night, Kaleb mentioned to me how excited he is to be able to get a lot of driving experience on our trip to New York in June.

I'm headed to the doctor's office to get a huge bottle of sedatives.

Actually, he's 15 - its the early learner's license thing. My nerves are getting better everyday tho except for that brief incident with the bumper of a Dodge Caravan.......
