Thanks to Glendyne for hosting the "office girls" for lunch today. We meet quarterly to eat and pray together. It was a fabulous day on the deck, sharing food and our lives. And special to me were the "affirm Shauna" moments when everyone shared something to encourage me. Its hard to sit and listen to others expound on your virtues (which, depending on the circumstance, may not always show themselves as virtues) and then to graciously accept that what they are saying has made a impact in their lives. But I thank my dear sisters in Christ for their kind words and thoughtful observations.
Some day, months from now, when I'm desperately homesick for all of you, I'll remember these words and cherish them deeply.
