I'm listening to Erwin McManus of Mosaic from his speech at the Leadership Summit 2003.
He has this to say on integrity which echoes my previous post of Philippians 2:
Is what we communicate and express on the outside what people find on the inside? What God longs to do is make us 'inside out' people, where who we are is more defined by what is inside than what is on the outside. Do you know how you discover what a person has inside of them? When they have any modicum of power. How a person uses power is the greatest revealer of their genuine integrity.
But Scripture tells us that integrity is developed only through humility not through position, prestige, education, training or skills but only through humility. Servanthood is what humility looks like. When you are willing to lay down your own life, your own priorities, your own dreams, your own safety, your own comfort, and say, "Jesus, whatever you want me to do, I'll do it," then you've found humility.
