- One this day in 1789, George Washington was inaugerated as the first President of the United States. How can you tell I'm married to an American? :)
- Last night Carol and I talked on the phone for two hours, from 10:30 pm - 12:30 am. Then, as if we hadn't already solved all the world's problems, we went to the gym this morning and talked some more!
- Another successful driveway sale is over. I am honestly amazed at the things people will buy - all the old furniture from the cabin at the lake went before noon. We still have another load to bring down so I hope we haven't saturated the market with retro furniture yet.
- Forms, forms, forms. At the start of this overseas adventure, I should have counted the number of pages we have had to fill out. Today I filled out application forms fr all four of us for the TCK-PFO of ACSI we have to attend in New York state. (OK, for all those who are wondering what the acronym stands for: Third Culture Kids Pre-Field Orientation of Associated Christian Schools International!). Those forms have to be post-marked tomorrow and then we have online personality testing that also needs to be submitted as well as the kids' registration forms for the school.
- I opened my email last night and found a bunch of "welcome" messages from the staff at Dalat. It was great to get introduced via email to some of the team we will be working with. There will be lots of staff kids as friends for our kids which was great to hear. Also everybody is willing to share their opinions on what to bring and what to buy there.
- Tim is exhausted. He just finished covering shifts for a friend. So he's worked two day shifts, four night shifts, two off, two day shifts and another four night shifts. He has tomorrow off and then back to his regular routine. I'm amazed he was able to stay awake to eat supper tonight. No wonder they say shift work takes years off of your life.
