The gift of chocolates

On Friday, our friends, Al and Joan, wanted to send us flowers in honour of a celebration. So Joan called the local art gallery and gift shop here in Lumsden to see if there was a florist shop here. The curator of the art gallery told her there was no flower shop but that a new chocolate shop had opened across the street from him. Joan thanked him for this information and hung up.

Then she realized she couldn't locate the phone number to the chocolate shop because it was a new listing. So she called back to the art gallery for the phone number. The curator said he didn't know the number either but would walk across the street with his cell phone so Joan could place an order to be delivered to our house!! What great service - only in small town Saskatchewan do people walk across the street with their cell phones to another business. The owner of the chocolate shop also waived the delivery charge because our house is only a few blocks away.

So Friday afternoon, Prairie Cherry chocolates (completely organic BTW) were delivered to our house. They are absolutely fantastic and tantalizing - I highly recommend you stop in at the store if you are in Lumsden sometime. I also highly recommend stopping at the Letterbox Art Gallery and Gift Shop to see the work of some amazing Saskatchewan artists.

Thanks, Al and Joan, for going out of your way to celebrate with us and make us feel so special.
