When Tim works night shifts or weekends, I usually make a dessert for him to take to share with the guys. The other three fellows are big eaters and love decadent desserts. I've made all sorts of stuff for them - lots of new recipes - and they have loved it all. I gets lots of my ideas from the Kraft magazine and website.
So tonight, Tim's shift partner, Dan, is coming for supper. I'm making "Julia's Chocolate Cake" for dessert. Julia made it for Heather a couple of weeks ago and it was such a big hit, Heather got the recipe and then gave it to me. So here's what's on the menu (besides Apricot chicken, Caesar salad and rice):
Julia's Chocolate Cake
Prepare a 9x13 chocolate cake mix, bake and let cool. Poke holes in cake while still warm. Mix 1 can sweetened condensed milk and equal amount of caramel ice cream topping. Pour this mixture into the holes of the cake. Top with whipping cream and crushed Skor bar. Enjoy!!
(Note: Julia only uses about 3/4 of the caramel mixture- she said to experiment with what you like. Also it is better if the cake can sit overnight to let the flavor soak in.)
